IT ALL STARTED IN A MATERNITY WARD INCUBATOR
There’s an oft told story in my family that immediately after I was placed in an incubator at birth, I was tapping rhythmically and also managed to squirm my way to one end of the incubator. My aunt was there as a maternity nurse, and apparently said “this one’s going to be a drummer.”
While the story may have been stretched a bit, she was right about the drummer part!
While I never achieved anything near stadium level success, to this day I still play drums, both on stage and in recording studios.
While I’m sure there’s some truth in chalking it up to my restless, “gotta be moving at all times” kinetic nature, I also believe I’m wired to constantly ask:
